Muro K RA
Natural hydraulic lime bonding coat.
Special mortar with high bond strength for bonding bridges and/or links between smooth or poorly absorbent substrates (such as concrete or stone) and the subsequent standard, thermal or restoration plaster. It offers high workability, thixotropy, plasticity and elasticity, controlled shrinkage, a low content of water-soluble salts, no reactivity with salts in the masonry and a very low VOC content, with pure selected aggregates with a maximum grain size of 1.4 mm. It is ideal for work on both new and existing masonry, including listed buildings.
Key features:
- Contains no Portland cement;
- Very low VOC content;
- Class CS IV according to UNI EN 998-1;
- High bond strength and mechanical performance, without being rigid;
- Adds no water-soluble salts to the masonry;
- Does not react with any sulfates in the masonry, so it is compatible with historic masonry;
- Breathable and hygroscopic, it prevents mold and condensation and regulates indoor humidity;
- Reversible and compatible with historic masonry;
- Fully recyclable and/or disposable as inert waste at end of life.
Muro K RA ensures an effective bond between standard, thermal or restoration plaster and substrates or masonry with low porosity or absorbency. It can be applied to existing walls or vaults in poorly absorbent solid brick, mixed stone masonry with squared and/or medium-to-large stones, concrete, non-absorbent restoration plasters, and plasters with an old mineral or plastic finish or paint that are to receive a new plastering system, and in general to any substrate considered difficult for the bond of the following plaster according to good practice. Once hardened, it forms the ideal base for the new plaster.
