ElastoKalce

Highly flexible, high-bond waterproofing coating based on NHL 3.5 natural hydraulic lime.

Special two-component mortar based on NHL 3.5 natural hydraulic lime, pure selected fine-grained aggregates and water-dispersed polymers, for flexible skim coats that are impermeable to water, salts and carbon dioxide, with high bond strength on historic concrete, plasters, lime or lime-and-cocciopesto screeds, solid brick, tuff or mixed stone masonry, terracotta tiles, ceramic or stone slabs, fiber cement, gypsum fiber, plasterboard, marine plywood, wood fiber, Plywood, OSB (type 3 - 4), aerated concrete panels and the like. Thanks to a special emulsion, the hardened product remains elastic and deformable even at temperatures well below freezing, is not degraded by de-icing salts, chlorides, nitrates, sulfates or carbon dioxide, and bonds excellently to all the substrates it is recommended for. Since it does not react with sulfates, the product is particularly suitable for work on existing and historic masonry, including listed buildings.

ElastoKalce is suitable for:

  • protecting lime, natural hydraulic lime or hydraulic binder plasters from the weather;
  • waterproofing wall bases and plinths in mixed stone, tuff or solid brick;
  • waterproofing and protecting foundations in mixed stone, tuff or solid brick;
  • waterproofing and protecting solid brick or stone wall copings;
  • waterproofing brick roof decks or sloped screeds under roof tiles;
  • waterproofing and protecting existing lime or lime-and-cocciopesto screeds exposed to the weather;
  • applying a protective layer against rising damp on existing subfloors or screeds, to protect the new flooring;
  • applying a damp-proof course between the subfloor and the first course of perimeter walls or partitions;
  • waterproofing balconies, bathtub surrounds, shower walls and terraces before tiling;
  • waterproofing terracotta, ceramic or stone coverings on terraces or balconies;
  • waterproofing and protecting plasterboard, gypsum fiber, fiber cement, marine plywood, wood fiber, Plywood, OSB (type 3 or 4), aerated concrete panels and the like.

ElastoKalce offers:

  • very high elasticity, even at low temperatures (down to -20 °C);
  • very high bond strength;
  • very low carbon dioxide permeability;
  • UV resistance;
  • resistance and impermeability to salts.

Although based on NHL 3.5 lime, ElastoKalce meets the principles of UNI EN 14891 (liquid-applied waterproofing products for use beneath ceramic tiling bonded with adhesives).

ElastoKalce is used to waterproof vertical structures (e.g. below-grade walls) or horizontal ones (e.g. screeds, balconies or terraces before tiling) subject to positive or negative hydrostatic pressure, made of existing masonry, masonry foundations, lime and cocciopesto screeds, hydraulic binder blocks or plasters, plasterboard, fiber cement, marine plywood and similar panels that need protecting from water absorption or seepage.

ElastoKalce forms a protective layer that is impermeable to water and carbon dioxide and resistant to de-icing salts. It makes the substrate it is applied to freeze-thaw resistant and extends its service life. It is ideal for protecting terraces and balconies, or hydraulic mortars, to increase their durability or bring it in line with their exposure class.
