Koncrete K M30

Polymer-modified structural mortar for reinforced strengthening and inorganic-matrix composites.

Special fiber-reinforced structural mortar for consolidating and strengthening masonry or concrete, in thick or thin layers, with FRCM or CRM systems, that is, inorganic-matrix composite strengthening systems with steel, carbon or glass fiber meshes of suitable characteristics. It offers high mechanical performance, high workability, thixotropy, plasticity and elasticity, controlled shrinkage, a low content of water-soluble salts, no reactivity with salts in the masonry and a very low VOC content. Based on sulfate-resistant hydraulic binders, pozzolanic filler, pure selected aggregates with a maximum grain size of 3 mm and additives, it is ideal for strengthening, securing, waterproofing, consolidating and seismically upgrading existing buildings.

Key features:

  • very low VOC content (class A+ under the French VOC – CMR Regulation);
  • fully recyclable and/or disposable as inert waste at end of life;
  • class CS IV according to UNI EN 998-1;
  • class M30 according to UNI EN 998-2;
  • high bond strength and mechanical performance, without being rigid;
  • adds no water-soluble salts to the masonry;
  • reversible and compatible with historic masonry;
  • protects against water and carbon dioxide when used with steel reinforcement;
  • controlled shrinkage thanks to SCT (Shrinkage Control Technology).

Koncrete K M30 effectively bonds steel, basalt, glass fiber and other strengthening meshes to vertical or horizontal structures (concrete, masonry, vaults, floors) to improve their resistance to static or dynamic loads, upgrade their structural behavior and improve their seismic resistance, or to hold waterproofing sheets or membranes between the masonry and the strengthening layer in negative-pressure waterproofing work. The strengthening can be local or extensive and includes a number of point connections between the mesh and the structure, using suitable connectors as required by the design.

Koncrete K M30 can be applied to concrete, historic concrete, solid brick or mixed stone walls and vaults, and in general to brick, hollow-block and sand-cement brick elements, etc.

The main applications are summarized below:

  • extensive or local strengthening reinforced with metal, glass fiber or carbon fiber meshes of a suitable type, properly connected to the load-bearing structure, on concrete, sand-cement block or brick masonry, and mixed stone masonry;
  • local strengthening of wall faces to prevent mechanisms in parts of the masonry under static or dynamic loads (overturning of walls, hinges forming in vaults or floors);
  • extensive or local strengthening of the extrados of concrete, solid brick or mixed stone vaults with a reinforced topping or strengthening strips with metal, glass fiber or carbon fiber meshes properly connected to the vault;
  • jacketing of columns or strengthening of the soffit of concrete or solid brick beams;
  • reinforced solid brick ring beams;
  • holding waterproofing sheets or membranes between the masonry and the strengthening layer in negative-pressure waterproofing work.
