Termo K Finish

White heat-reflective and insulating finish for interior and exterior use.

White finish with high heat-reflecting and insulating properties, high workability, thixotropy, plasticity and elasticity, breathable, very low in volatile organic compounds (VOC), non-combustible and fully recyclable at end of life, based on lime and special hydraulic binders, pure selected aggregates with a maximum grain size of 0.3 mm and additives, suitable for:

  • finishing new indoor or outdoor plaster before painting;
  • finishing existing plaster or concrete, outdoors or indoors, after a base skim coat of RALLK K OttO or RALLK Rasante K;
  • finishing plasterboard, gypsum fiber, fiber cement or wood fiber panels after applying RALLK Primer K and a base skim coat of RALLK K OttO with embedded 150 g/m² glass fiber mesh.

Termo K Finish offers:

  • very low thermal conductivity;
  • low thermal emissivity and high solar reflectance;
  • excellent thermo-hygrometric regulation of indoor spaces.

The thermal emissivity of Termo K Finish is 23% lower than that of ordinary skim coats or finishes.

As a result, once Termo K Finish has been applied, the inner surfaces of a room draw less heat from the occupants by radiation, making the room feel more thermally comfortable.

Termo K Finish reflects 81% of the thermal radiation striking its surface, drastically reducing heat loss from heated rooms. The low thermal conductivity and hygroscopic properties of Termo K Finish raise the inner wall temperature, preventing mold from forming.

For all these reasons, the RALLK Termo K Finish finish:

  • improves indoor comfort;
  • reduces heat loss or heat absorption by the masonry;
  • reduces the heat drawn away by the walls through radiation;
  • helps keep room temperature even and reduces convection currents inside rooms;
  • removes the conditions for indoor mold growth, keeping rooms healthy and comfortable.

Mold growth is directly linked to surface condensation on the wall.

Using RALLK Termo K Finish as a skim coat over the interior plaster of a 1960s-70s concrete or solid brick wall makes a structure that would otherwise be exposed to surface condensation and mold "compliant and verified" (ref. CERTIMAC report SQM_358_2018).

Other features are very low plastic shrinkage, excellent bond to the substrate even when smooth and poorly absorbent, good abrasion resistance, high durability against the weather, no solvents or substances harmful to health, a very low VOC content and full recyclability at end of life.

Termo K Finish is used to:

  • prevent mold forming on interior plaster;
  • improve thermal comfort, healthiness and hygiene indoors;
  • increase the thermal insulation of the wall;
  • help solve thermal bridges.

It can be applied at least 2-3 mm thick on existing plasters with or without paint or mineral finish, provided they are based on hydraulic binders, sound, dust-free and well bonded to the wall, on concrete, on plasterboard, fiber cement, gypsum fiber, wood fiber, calcium silicate, aerated concrete or similar panels, and in general on any substrate whose low water absorption and low roughness can cause poor adhesion with ordinary mortars.

On plasters or substrates that are not perfectly flat, a base skim coat of RALLK Rasante K or RALLK K OttO is recommended, with embedded 150 g/m2 glass fiber mesh if required by the type or condition of the substrate.

Termo K Finish can be painted with lime, silicate, siloxane or acrylic paints, preferably vapor-permeable. It is not compatible with wallpaper or with ceramic or stone wall tiles.
