Structural strengthening with mortar jacketing on rubble stone masonry.
Structure type
External walls or partitions in rubble stone.
Detail
Mortar jacketing for structural strengthening and upgrading, with its skim coat and finish, indoors or outdoors, on rubble stone masonry.
Application cycle
Interior strengthening plaster or mortar layer connected to the exterior strengthening (see point 3 of the additional notes).
Mixed stone wall.
Leveling scratch coat of RALLK Muro K based on NHL 3.5 natural hydraulic lime, or alternatively a bonding scratch coat of RALLK Muro K SRG based on NHL 3.5 natural hydraulic lime, applied in one coat without screeding until the surfaces are even.
Reinforced strengthening and structural upgrade layer of RALLK Muro K, based on NHL 3.5 natural hydraulic lime, with alkali-resistant glass fiber, carbon fiber or steel mesh properly connected to the wall with through-connectors.
Troweled interior or exterior finish with RALLK Marmo K, applied with a steel float and polished with a flexible steel spatula until the surface is even, smooth and silky, or has another desired look (or finish with a finishing coat, powder mineral finish, acrylic, siloxane, lime or silicate paste finish, or lime, siloxane, acrylic or silicate paint, as set out in the specifications).
Additional information
The reinforced layer prevents mechanisms (hinges) from forming that could make the wall unstable.
The bonding scratch coat cannot replace fixing the strengthening mesh to the wall with connectors of suitable number and type.
Reinforced plaster is most effective when it covers large areas, or better still the whole wall, and when the interior strengthening is connected to the exterior strengthening with through-connectors.
